Upcycled Navy Hemp & Cotton Blue Floral Bolero Vest

One-of-a-kind bolero shrug made from Navy Hemp/ Organic Cotton Canvas and a thrifted blue floral 100% cotton button-down shirt.  I love how the blues in this design play off each other, and the pop of color added by the bright teal topstitching. I wanted to try the navy canvas as an outer shell as an alternative to using upcycled denim and it worked beautifully, giving the garment a bit of structure without making it too thick. The floral lining was cut from a short-sleeved button-down shirt, and even includes the front shirt pocket on the inside right. I’ll admit that the pocket isn’t super useful in this garment, but I wanted to try it, and it is functional and able to hold a quick stash of cash/credit and a pen.
