This distressed leather is made from full grain, natural grain cowhide — not corrected or buffed — with the same soft, drapey hand as our deer-tanned articles. The surface retains its natural pebble grain, with no grain correction, giving each hide a rich, authentic character. Finished in a “saddle-tanned” style with a wax topcoat, the leather has a rich, oily feel and develops visible weathering and patina with use. The wax finish enhances depth of color and highlights the grain pattern, while also helping the leather resist light moisture. The hides are drum-dyed for full color penetration, ensuring consistent tone when flexed or bent.
