Master Weaver Joseph Young will be leading this 3-day class at the Taos Wools classroom in Arroyo Seco NM.  In this workshop you will learn traditional Zapotec tapestry designs such as geometric diamonds, grecas and mountainitas. You will draw inspiration from past and present to create a unique contemporary piece.   Materials Provided: • Large selection of Taos Wools Hand-dyed yarns  • Looms • All weaving tools ———— Each day class starts at 9 AM with an hour break for lunch at noon. We wrap up the day at 4 PM all three days.  ———— Joseph (Joey) Young is trained in traditional Zapotec style of weaving, also having studied tapestry and pattern weaving. Learning from Master weaver Zenon Hipolito, a 7th generation Zapotec weaver from Teotitlan del valle, Zenon passed on many traditional techniques and styles to Joey, which he uses to this day to create wonderfully woven pieces.
