About Melinda Bateman: Master Weaver “I have always been passionate about fiber-I Iove the feel of textiles and began my journey by learning to spin yarn. I was fortunate to then apprentice and work for ten years as a production weaver with Rachel Brown of Weaving Southwest. I continue to be passionate about fiber, and after 40 years of weaving, I find that there is an ease now when I work, combining colors and patterns that I find pleasing.” - This class offers beginning tapestry weaving instruction on the Rio Grande Walking loom. Please be prepared to stand while weaving. Techniques to be covered: diagonals, verticals, pick and pick, wavy lines and ojos.
