Longing for Spring is Lisa Hardy’s newest series of dreamy, light-filled paintings, created in the final days of winter as an ode to the changing season. Infused with a quiet yearning for warmth, light, and renewal, the works reflect Hardy’s turn inward—drawing on imagined florals and vivid garden memories as a way to summon spring before its arrival. As daffodils, the national flower of Wales, began blooming across the landscape and in her own garden, they found their way into her compositions. Hardy’s fluid brushwork and delicate palette of joyful spring hues evoke the freshness and transience of early blossoms.
