Night Hours of Blue Minutes

Teschner’s “Sculptures That Are Flat” are composed of stitched painted planes, using the symbolic language of architectural forms and of natural forces to demonstrate the expressive power of spatial relationships. Night Hours of Blue Minutes is from the sculptor's series of monoliths, each fragmented according to our fluctuating experience of adjacent blocks of time. Influenced by the struggle to recognize shapes emerge from blue-black darkness in the minutes before dawn, Night Hours of Blue Minutes is a monumental demonstration of Teschner’s interest in the boundary between object and environment.
