Silkworms
Silkworms (Bombyx mori) are an excellent food source for reptiles. They are highly nutritious, offering a rich source of protein and essential nutrients while being low in fat. Silkworms are easy to digest, making them ideal for reptiles like bearded dragons, geckos, and chameleons. Their soft bodies make them suitable for young and sick reptiles. Overall, silkworms are a healthy and beneficial addition to a reptile's diet. Care: Silkworms only eat mulberry leaves or chow made up of mostly mulberry leaves. They will live a number of days without food but to maintain maximum weight and hydration they need to have food and ideally all day long. The container you keep them in should be well ventilated to keep humidity moderate as too much can cause the food to mold but at the same time the worms prefer some humidity. If mold should be found make sure to remove it quickly as mold will spread to the food that is still good. The waste they produce should be removed before it builds up. They
