Korea: Organic Balhyo 2025
발효차 Harvest in May 2025 Balhyo is unique in Korea - not quite oolong, black, or puerh - since each producer has their technique and preference for tea leaf grade (spring, summer, fall). We've categorized this Balhyo as black due to its high oxidation level and taste. Sejak-grade green tea leaves are expertly oxidized and allowed to wither in the sun before being carefully dried, granting a cocoa nuance that pairs excellently with a pungent aroma and gentle tannins. Boasting a lower caffeine content than traditional black teas, Balhyo offers a delightfully soothing brew. *KAS Korean Organic Certified with a USDA equivalency Origin: Hadong, Korea Cultivar: Hadong Flavor Profile: Roasted almonds, cacao, and sunchokes with refined tannins Servings: 5 x 5g Net weight: 25g
