Entropy Blue 01 forms part of an ongoing exploration into the wavelength of colors, in this case blue. Stemming from the artists background in science and architecture, Jelena Donko’s work uses color at a conceptual level to describe movement – the motion of a certain wavelength. Expressed through the use of acrylic paints on heavy, textured watercolour paper, texture is created by deliberate adjustments in the fluidity and transparency of the relationship between these two mediums.. Jelena Donko (Of Atoms and Lines) is a freelance artist living and working in the historic center of Graz, Austria. With a background in architecture and design, Jelena works across a number of media and techniques including painting, drawing and sculpture. Inspired by physical and mathematical concepts, her work is characterized by a combination of theoretical and visual research that reflects a practice between drawing from observation and conceptual imagination.
