At a minimum, the model PFP-KIT 2 should be used before the first joint of the day is made and then periodically throughout the day to ensure proper temperature of the heating tool face that contacts the pipe or fitting ends.  The pyrometer gauge kit provides ±0.5°F degrees F accuracy.
