1991 Fender Telecaster Plus Deluxe
The Telecaster Plus Deluxe rolled out in 1990, and while it pays homage to the time-honored originals, this model was outfitted with the most cutting-edge parts available at the time. In addition to locking tuners and a roller nut, the Telecaster Plus Deluxe has a two-point Stratocaster tremolo system with six heavy-duty saddles, allowing you to fine tune the intonation. For electronics, the Tele Plus Deluxe had Lace Sensor pickups, which were red hot at the time. In the neck position, there's a Lace Sensor Blue, and in the bridge position, it has a "Dually" humbucker—two Lace Sensor Red pickups paired to function as one. The Lace Sensor design retains a lot of the dynamic qualities players love about Fender pickups. But unlike most single-coil designs, the Lace Sensor's coil is encased in metal barriers, which help reduce electro-magnetic interference and excess noise/hum.
