Krishot mandolins are made in the Czech Republic by E.K.—Eduard Kristofek. Although E.K. lives pretty far away from the San Juan mountains of Colorado, he has a sincere Telluride connection as the winner of the 1993 Telluride Bluegrass Festival mandolin competition. He also won the Rockygrass competition a few years later in 1996. On many some of his early trips to the USA, he had the opportunity to study bluegrass music and examine Lloyd Loar F5s from 1922-23s.  E.K.'s wealth of knowledge and understanding of how the mandolin functions in a string band are translated deeply into his instruments. This Krishot A was made in 2005, and it conforms to typical A5 specs. As to be expected from Krishot, it shows a high level of build quality, and in your hands, it feels like an incredible value for the price.  This Krishot A5 features an Alaskan Sitka Spruce top, carefully carved and voiced to produce a strong, balanced sound.
