Gesha - Iconic
This washed Gesha comes from Santa Mónica, a farm in Quindío run by Jairo Arcila and his family. While Gesha has its roots in Ethiopia’s Gori Gesha Forest, Colombia’s high elevations and volcanic soils give the variety a different expression, one built on clarity rather than excess. The coffee is selectively harvested and fermented underwater for 30 hours before being fully washed and dried under close supervision. The process is deliberate and restrained, designed to preserve the structure of the coffee rather than push it in any one direction. That approach shows clearly in the cup. Expect lifted florals and gentle citrus, with white grape brightness and a clean, tea-like finish. There’s a softness to it, but also precision. It works well across brewing styles and rewards slower attention without demanding it. This is Gesha without theatre. Calm, clean, and quietly expressive.
