In Maya cosmology it was not an ending. It was a transformation. A passage rather than a destination. This painting is a meditation on what it looks like to approach that kind of threshold with openness. Not grasping. Not resisting. The flamingo has long been understood as an intermediary, a creature that exists comfortably between worlds, carrying emotional wisdom and the quiet intelligence of the heart. Its stillness is deceptive. That famous one-legged stance is not fragility. It is chosen equilibrium. Balance not as performance but as a way of meeting what comes.
