Beautiful Blue Polished Sodalite Specimen, 354g. Lovely dark blue and black color. From Brazil. Would make a fantastic addition to any collection. Raw and rough specimen. Gem Info and Lore: Sodalite is a rich royal blue tectosilicate mineral widely used as an ornamental gemstone. Although massive sodalite samples are opaque, crystals are usually transparent to translucent. Sodalite is a member of the sodalite group with hauyne, nosean, lazurite and tugtupite. Discovered in 1811 in the Ilimaussaq intrusive complex in Greenland, sodalite did not become important as an ornamental stone until 1891 when vast deposits were discovered in other locations. Dating back to ancient civilizations, the Sodalite crystal meaning is linked to the ethereal energy that promotes the highest form of self-expression. Sculptors, painters, and artists were known to carry Sodalite for inspiration. *Note! The crystal healing information provided here is for guidance only. It is not intended as a substitute for
