From a new producer in the Creuse! Where the Volcanic Loire meets the Auvergne - this is 80% Gamay d'Auvergne (~50 year-old vines) and 20% Pinot Noir. Grapes are hand-harvested, and whole-cluster spontaneously ferment in fiberglass tank prior to pressing. Aged for ~6 months in neutral barrique before bottling unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2. Sébastien and Nawal Buissonnière Moulin de Rameau is the story of Sébastien and Nawal Buissonnière, who transformed an old 18th-century water mill in Chambonchard into a vineyard, cellar, and living testament to lo-fi winemaking. Sébastien grew up on a farm in Vendée and studied engineering and energy before turning fully to vineyards and natural wine. Nawal brings complementary skill and focus, and together they are reviving old Auvergne grape varieties while nurturing small-scale plots of Gamay, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and other heritage vines.
