It's called “vegetable” because of the natural materials used in the tanning process, like tree bark. Since vegetable tanning is a natural process, it's also eco-friendly. Due to the careful tanning process and the natural tannins, vegetable-tanned leather develops a rich and beautiful patina, and actually gets better with time and use. This Leather feels a lot firmer than our other leathers, but after it gets broken in, it is very comfortable.
