Overview The WLEL-NY Series Wet Location emergency light is designed for use throughout the five boroughs of New York City. NYC emergency lights, including this wet location model, are designed, constructed, and approved for use by the New York City Building Department. New York City emergency lights are required to be installed into all facilities and buildings that do not have a backup generator that keeps the lighting system operable during an emergency power outage. This waterproof New York City emergency light is designed for oudoor use and other environments in which moisture is present. Waterproof emergency lights come with an option for an internal battery heater. The heater allows the battery backup system to remain functional in freezing temperature environments. Since New York City experiences freezing temperatures during the winter months, the WLEL-NY is usually purchased with the battery heater option.
