Overview The HZEX Class 1 Division 1 Exit Sign is designed for use in hazardous locations that feature the presence of flammable gases, vapors, or liquids during normal facility operations. The HZEX blends the style and design of an Edge-Lit exit sign with the ruggedness and durability of a hazardous location fixture. The die-cast aluminum housing contains the red or green LED light strip that ililluminates the EXIT panel. A compact and powerful nickel cadmium battery backup system provides 180 minutes of EXIT illumination after AC power is lost during an emergency. It operates with 120 or 277v dual voltage. The housing is designed for wall (surface) mounting and end (side) mounting. An optional pendant kit can be attached to the top of the fixture to mount the housing from a high ceiling. The acrylic EXIT panel is shatterproof and comes standard with "EXIT" screen-printed in red or green. A Self-Diagnostic constant current charger circuit monitors the condition of the battery pack and indicates via a flashing LED when nickel cadmium exit sign battery needs replacing.
