Wild Chiltepin

Wild Chiltepin - 10 Seeds Though all chiltepin types are decendents from wild peppers, most of the Tepin/Chiltepin varieties sold currently have been domesticated to a degree.    These are from a wild cultivar. These are not for beginner growers as these are finicky to grow and take FOREVER to get going.  After 2 months, these seedlings were only 2" or so tall.  We almost chucked them out thinking they weren't going to make it or be worth it.  Had a couple seedlings that were put in a 1 gallon pot and barely looked after.  Once they get established though they can really take off, just really slow. One of the plants gave over a hundred small round pods.  Great flavor.  Definitely different than most chiltepins being sold.
