Kindergarten Labeling Unit I Can Label and Write Writers Workshop

This is a four week labeling unit to help kindergarten writers become confident in their labeling and sentence structure skills. Kindergarten students will learn how to label phonetically by listening to the sounds they hear and towards the end of the unit practice writing a sentence with their labels. This unit sets kindergarten students up for success for writers workshop for the year. Students are given intensive instruction focusing solely on labeling their pictures. Often, we rush into the writing process which causes student frustration. This unit works on the skill slowly and creates a positive writing environment for all learners.
