Christ the Teacher Icon
Image of the Icon Christ the Teacher also called Christ Pantocrator is made using a high quality polygraphic machine, pasted on a wooden base. The icons are produced at a Monastery by an official icon maker of the Russian Orthodox Church in the village of Sofrino, Russia. Icon framed in wood. Consecrated. Size: height -4 3/4” width – 3 3/4” Note: any glare on pictures is a reflection of light from the plastic wrapping. The Christ Pantocrator of St. Catherine’s Monastery at Sinai is one of the oldest Eastern Roman religious icons, dating from the 6th century AD. It is the earliest known version of the Pantocrator style that still survives today, and is regarded by historians and scholars to be one of the most important and recognizable works in the study of Byzantine art as well as Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
