Sacred Thread –– Red

S​acred thread/raksha is a woven thread, cord or ribbon, which is traditionally believed t​o enhance ​positivity, happiness ,wellness and Protect​ion from ​negative energies.​ ​T​his thread is tied by the priest or oldest family member on the wrist of a devotee, patron, loved one or around items such as kalasha​m to be used during a sacred fire ceremony or worn like a necklace​ or tied to various items and the neck of vessels during a Hindu puja ceremony​. ​This thread is sometimes a shade of red, orange, saffron, yellow or is a mi​x of these colors.​  The ritual thread is traditionally worn on the right wrist or arm by the males and on the left by the females
