Antique French gilt bronze figural wax seal, desk stamp. Finely casted and beautifully modeled as a cherub seated on a flower vine covered column, posed as though removing a thorn from his foot. Lovely details throughout, in particular the feathers on his wings and flowers on the column. Bearing a matrix of interlaced initials VA or AV. In overall good antique condition. Measures 2 1/2" tall, the matrix is 3/4" square.
