Antique French Sterling Silver Cut Crystal Bedside Carafe Tumble Up

Antique Belle Époque era French sterling silver and cut crystal 3 piece 'verre d'eau' bedside carafe service comprising of a drinking glass, decanter and tray. Sumptuous pierced repousse work encase the decanter and glass in opulent Rococo ornamentation. Patterned with heavy scrolling foliate, rocailles, and flowers. The crystal tray mounted with a sterling border decorated with stylized acanthus leaves and C-scrolls. Each piece is crafted of quality clear crystal, beautifully decorated in a swirl of exquisite wheel cut flowers and sinuous vines. The decanter having a spiral fluted neck, and the drinking glass is finished with a deep wheel cut 24 point starburst at the base. Likely early unsigned Baccarat, in the Maintenon pattern. Baccarat began marking their pieces with a paper label in 1860, and replaced the traditional paper labels with an acid-etched logo in 1936. These paper labels were often lost, worn or washed away.
