Autumn Olive

WV Autumn Olive Honey is a premium, raw varietal harvested from the early-spring blooms of the invasive Elaeagnus umbellata tree, abundant in WV's Appalachian foothills.  One of the first major nectar sources for bees in the Mountain State - blooming mid-to-late April- this yields a limited batch honey with a lightly colored, subtly sweet-tart profile, echoing the faint, fruity aroma of the tree's signature red berries.  Sourced from small-scale apiaries like those in central WV, it's unfiltered to lock in enzymes, pollen, and antioxidants, turning it into a local superfood straight from the hive. All of our delicious raw honey is produced by more than 100 local beekeepers in the forested mountains of Appalachia. We protect the bees, beekeepers, and our ecosystem by using no synthetic chemicals or antibiotics in any part of our process. The Appalachian Beekeeping Collective is a non-profit organization working to restore formerly mined forest land and to bring jobs to the mountains of
