French Barbotine Hand Painted Majolica Faience Jardiniere or Soup Tureen and Matching Platter Set

A lovely, highly-detailed hand painted French Barbotine Majolica Faience soup tureen, with handles, feet and nicely sculpted cherry tree decorated cover.  The painted decoration on the sides and on the large platter include lovely flowers, including roses. Both pieces are marked underneath, "VP" (maker's mark for Veuve Perrin, Marseilles). Both have the label from Armand Elisson, 9 Rue Pavillon, Marseille. Bought in the South of France. Exquisite!
