
Ethereal Zephyr Wings
I wanted to convey the silent story of liberation and the pure, unspoken bond between sky and this beautiful winged creature. In my mind there's a narrative of Pidgeot (a creature that knows few vertical limits) taking to the skies in a display of bold strength and grace. When I set out to bring this vision to life, I chose a spectrum of blues and teals to represent the sky—a vast, ever-stretching home to all the Pokémon. The choice of colors was deliberate; they are the shades of the sky at a moment when light begins to wane but they hold a promise of the infinite horizon. The strokes that run across the backdrop are intentional, giving a sense of speed and movement, a feeling of the wind that's always present in the upper atmosphere. I spent considerable time on the details of Pidgeot's feathers. Each stroke was a careful decision, aiming to give a sense of individuality to every plume.
