Hell Here
In “Hell Here,” I was deeply inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer’s portrayal of Catwoman and her transformational journey. I wanted to capture that crucial moment of her rebirth after her dramatic fall and her creation of the iconic leather stitched costume.I intentionally chose a restricted color palette of black and pink. The black represents her newly discovered identity, while the pink harkens back to her days as the reserved secretary, Selina Kyle. These colors intertwine in my artwork, illustrating the dramatic shift in her persona. The title, “Hell Here,” is directly influenced by a memorable scene in Batman Returns, where she alters the neon sign “Hello There” to declare “Hell Here.” Through this painting, I aimed to convey the deep layers of Catwoman’s character, oscillating between vulnerability and strength.
