The Dance of Desolation

The Dance of Desolation

When I first set out to create this painting, I was inspired by a vision I had. In this vision, I found myself on a farm, surrounded by the serenity of nature, yet juxtaposed with the vibrant, dreamlike colors that enveloped the scene. As I stood there, I could see Leatherface emerging from the shadows. He wasn't the menacing figure many know him to be, but rather a complex individual caught in a unique moment. His posture was upright, exuding a quiet confidence. The chainsaw he held above his head wasn't a symbol of fear but one of power and control. It felt as though he was trying to master the cacophony inside him and channel it outwards. The colors in the painting, the purples, pinks, and golds, came alive around him, setting the ambiance of the evening. It felt like the world was holding its breath, waiting for Leatherface's next move. And yet, his eyes told a different story. They held a depth and vulnerability that made me reconsider everything I thought I knew about him.I imagined a story where Leatherface once danced on this farm. Perhaps, in a world different from ours, he found solace in expressing himself through dance, his own personal waltz amidst the colors of dusk. I also could be completely wrong and he may be in the middle of a chase.
