Volcanic Pursuit of Prey

In my piece “Volcanic Pursuit of Prey”, I aimed to capture the raw urgency of a chase. As I painted Charmeleon rushing forward, its bold crimson scales gleaming, I wanted the viewer to feel the intensity of its gaze and the imminent confrontation that awaited. Behind Charmeleon, I depicted a fiery cascade of lava, its molten fury emphasizing the drama of the chase.The story I envisioned was one of a grass-type Pokémon, inadvertently finding itself in territory dominated by fire types. This mistake didn’t go unnoticed. Inspired by Charmeleon’s known fiery temper and relentless nature, I placed it in the midst of this high-stakes chase, embodying its innate predatory instincts.Above this scene, I chose a greyish-blue for the sky, which appeared even darker against the bright glow of the lava and the striking coloration of Charmeleon. Through this work, I wanted to reflect on the primal instincts of survival and the unending dance between predator and prey in the Pokémon universe.
