
Reading Comprehension Leveled Daily Curriculum {LEVEL 1}
This year-long reading comprehension curriculum focuses on teaching reading comprehension skills and concepts. This resource is designed for special education students and autistic learners as it is visual-based and features a step-by-step progression of skills. It includes a non-writer version (requires only pre-writing skills) for seamlessly differentiated instruction. This curriculum includes embedded assessments allowing for data-based decision making and accurate progress monitoring. Level 1 of our Reading Comprehension Leveled Daily Curriculum focuses on focuses on teaching basic reading comprehension skills, including: matching words (increasing difficulty, within a sentence); identifying first and last letter of words; find letters within a word; match sentences; identify letter sounds; listening comprehension with the following themes: animals, food, sports, clothing, community, household, school supply, and transportation; and book skills: holding a book, following along, one to one correspondence with words, turning the page, and identifying items/letter sounds in a book.
