Organic Gaba Oolong
Gaba oolong is produced by replacing oxygen with nitrogen to convert natural Glutamic Acid in the leaves to Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA). Gaba is a neurotransmitter that triggers feelings of warmth and comfort, giving this robust selection some of the most notable health benefits of tea. Sip this rich, unique tea with a book by the fireplace and savor the comfort and relaxation it offers. Fresh leaves are picked during the spring harvest in Nantou County, Taiwan, placed in a pressurized barrel to remove oxygen, infused with nitrogen for 6-10 hours. The leaves are then lightly roasted to halt oxidization, rolled, dried, and compressed. Then are then re-rolled, compressed, dried, then finally roasted. The final result is a rich, complex, highly oxidized oolong tea with an average of 200 mg of GABA per 100g of dry weight. A light amber cup has robust aromas of woodiness and raisin. The palate is rich, with notes of muscatal, ending with a bright, lingering finish. Top notes of apricot b
