WWII Torpedo overflow tanks

This U.S. WWII Torpedo in Navy Grey coolant recovery tank may be mounted next to the radiator or on the firewall.  It is made of  brass and copper, has a 3" diameter, measures 19-1/4" in length and holds ~4 pints. Made in the USA. made of  copper and brass brass propeller painted navy grey 3" diameter 19-1/4" in length banded strips for mounting holds ~3 pints Made in the USA Should the system pressure exceed the cap’s rating, the spring will compress and fluid will flow through the upper tube to fill the chamber.  In the event the recovery tank reaches capacity, the fluid will find the second tube and exit to the street.  A vacuum will draw the coolant back into the cooling system as the engine cools down.
