Borislav Ivkov, from Yugoslavia, captured clear first with a score of 11.5. Only half point behind was Miguel Najdorf of Argentina. In third was Svetozar Gligorić also representing Yugoslavia. Tied for fourth and fifth were Luděk Pachman of Czechoslovak and László Szabó of Hungary. The next two players were both from Argentina.
