Fourteen contestants were invited. As a result of this tournament, Walter Browne, and Ken Rogoff qualified for the 1976 Interzonals. Robert Byrne also qualified as a result of having played in the 1974 Candidates Matches. Browne also became the Closed Champion with 8.5. Milan Vukcevich captured clear third with 7.5.
