Fish Skeleton

This fish bones polymer clay cutter set includes three cutters: a head, a double-ribs cutter, and a tail fin cutter. This cutter set comes in one size. The length of the assembled fish skeletons will vary depending on how many of the ribs pieces you use as well as the size of jump rings you choose to assemble the fishes with. We assembled ours with 4 mm jump rings. A fish with three ribs ended up being about 3 cm long and a fish with 5 ribs measures about 4 cm long. The fish head cutter was designed to be used with clay that's approximately 2.5 to 3 mm thick, so that the eye detail shows up. Since this design looks best with small jump rings, you may have an easier time if you use slightly thinner clay for the rib pieces and tail fin. This will make assembly with smaller jump rings much easier!  As an alternative to using small jump rings, instead of drilling two holes in each of the rib pieces, as we have here, you can choose to drill one larger hole in the center of the rib shape.
