Green Terror Cichlid The Green Terror Cichlid (Andinoacara rivulatus) is a unique and colorful freshwater fish originating from the Pacific side of South America and inhabiting the tropical basins of Peru and Ecuador.  They are popular among aquarists due to their magnificent colors and patterns. Despite its name, the fish is not only green. Green Terror Cichlids are part of the Cichlid family and are thus prone to aggressive behaviors. These species are very aggressive and territorial, and females are often more aggressive than males, especially during spawning season.  Growing to around 8 inches in an aquarium, the Green Terror Cichlid requires a relatively sizeable tank of about 35 gallons which would provide enough room for them to roam since they are free swimmers.  To replicate their natural environment, water should be kept at 68°F to 80°F with neutral pH of 6.5-8.0.
