A sad fellow who once was a real turtle, he’s not specifically described in the book as his traditionally shown half calf & half sea turtle. This depiction is the artistic license of original Alice illustrator, John Tenniel, as mock turtle soup is made with veal. I took my own liberties with the Mock Turtle’s features using the textiles I had around. I started with the chest plate and built off that. He kept getting larger and larger with each element added and I think it suits him just fine!! An educated fellow always ready with a song and the picture of sustainability, he’s made mostly with upcycled wool sweaters with faux fur accents both machine and hand stitched.
