TCC Commie Chalice Frag
We specifically used a hammer and sickle to frag this Chalice coral. Features a Soviet red base with bright golden speckles. Frag is approximately 1/2- 3/4inch. Chalice Coral Care: "Chalice Corals" include multiple different coral species, meaning their care can slightly vary. In general, these are very hardy LPS coral and great for beginners who are looking for a pop of color in their tanks. Lighting- We recommend lower to medium lighting levels. Generally around 50-100 PAR. Placement on the sand bed is common for Chalices, though they can slowly be moved upward in the tank with time. Flow- Similar to lighting, lower to medium flow is recommended. You want enough flow to prevent detritus from settling on the Chalice, but not so much that you see the tissue moving. Aggression- Chalices can be quite aggressive corals. A few species do have sweeper tentacles, and all species will sting if in direct contact with another coral.
