Alexandra Rouard with a remarkable craft and a singular approach challenges the traditional depiction of melancholy. The painter offers a new vision of the solitude, seen and experienced by women. "This collection is very representative of my work. Women and flowers, they both have an ephemeral beauty. We get a quick glimpse at their youth before it fades away. This is for me very poetic  and shows how delicate and fragile beauty and youth can be.Time slowly takes its toll and willing or not, nothing stays permanent."
