Tramonto Di Oro [Trah-moan-tow Dee Orr-oh] means “Sunset of Gold” in Italian. Nearly everyday, especially in the early summer, the humid landscape gathers heat from the beating sun throughout the day. As the sun moves into the late-afternoon, the humid landscape releases a fog-like essence in the air. This humid air catches the sunlight, and holds it. This creates a gold glow across the land and makes for not only amazing photographs, but also a truly unique experience. This lone cypress stood out from the rolling field, and seemed to bask, as was I, in this sunset of gold. This image was captured in the Val D’Orcia area of Tuscany. During his Sophomore year at University (January – June of 2014) Adam DeSerio decided to study abroad in Italy in order to discover the beautiful landscape of Tuscany and his Italian roots.
