Howlite is a calcium borosilicate hydroxide mineral known for its white or gray color with gray, black, or brown veining. It has a Mohs hardness of 3 to 3.5, making it relatively soft and easy to carve. Howlite typically forms in nodular masses with a porous texture and is often dyed to resemble other stones, such as turquoise. It is commonly found in Canada, the United States (especially California), Mexico, and Germany.   Howlite | Tumbled Localities:  Canada, the United States (especially California), Mexico, and Germany Rarity: Common Hardness: 3 - 3.5   *Price is per individual piece unless noted.
