Obv: Bust facing left, SR. ISAAC NEWTON around. Rev: A caduceus, cornucopia, and olive branch, HALFPENNY above, 1793 below. Edge: Engrailed. Extremely Fine. Tiny spot on wing of caduceus. Struck for general circulation and designed by Wyon. The symbols on the reverse represent trade, peace, and plenty. As well as being a noted scientist, Newton was also Warden of the Royal Mint until his death in 1727. He is buried in Westminster Abbey.
