Victorian Rose Gold Coin Purse Locket

This circa 1890 antique locket is a perfect miniature replica of a Victorian coin purse, crafted in 10k rose gold. It has the sweetest details including a tiny padlock charm that dangles from a "latch" on the outside. Originally this might have hung from a chatelaine or ladies’ watch chain. It opens to reveal a gilded compartment, indicating it might have been meant to hold a perfumed piece of cotton. Details: Measuring approximately 3/4” north to south, not including the bail, and 7/8” at the widest. Not marked for gold content but XRF tests to 10k.  Condition: In excellent condition with a light patina and a couple of very subtle dings. The hinge is in firm working order and the locket stays firmly closed.
