Bandol Rouge "La Tourtine", Domaine Tempier 2021

The 2021 La Tourtine (80% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, 10% Cinsault) is always our favorite of the Tempier Cuvées Spéciales, as it features the highest percentage of Mourvèdre in the blend. Tourtine sits above Cabacaou on Tempier's main slope, and there's a good deal of clay topsoil here, which helps the 40 year-old vines withstand the high heat and drought conditions of vintages like 2021. It is surprisingly fresh and nimble in this dry and challenging year. Ecocert certified organic; practicing biodynamic.
