The Beaujolais Cru of Chiroubles is sited at the highest elevation of all 10 of these special appellations, and the resulting wine displays a lightness, elegance and freshness that we frankly find many of the warmer Crus lack. The classic granite subsoils here marry with Javernand's exquisite Gamay to give a wine that literally smells and tastes of sour fruits and rocks...which is exactly what we want from Beaujolais!
