Rully Rouge "La Barre", Jacqueson 2023

The Jacqueson entry-level Rully is from a villages plot, La Barre. And the 2023 vintage shines at this fantastic domaine, with the La Barre Pinot Noir imbued with an extra degree of concentration and complexity. The usual fraise-and-cerise aromas and flavors in this cuvée are accented with a bit of soy and spice, and the length on the palate is also riveting. We can think of no better grower in all the Côte Chalonnaise (with the possible exception of Aubert de Villaine!), and this is a 2023 that will be rewarded by 3-5 years' cellaring...if you have the iron will not to drink it all right away for its beguiling and youthful energy.
