Engraving on paper from Altman's series of works centering on life in Central Park, New York City. The composition shows three women standing in close proximity on a large, featureless foreground. The women are placed just below the intersection of two rows of hedges at different heights in the background, with a very subtle delineation between the figures of the women and the environment behind them. The work has been been mounted in an archival, acid-free deep bevel mat and framed in a cross banded crotch mahogany frame. Numbered, titled, and signed in graphite across the bottom: 64/112, Three Women, Altman American, 1965. Condition: Engraving is in fine original condition. Wear commensurate with age and use.
