American engraving of Commodore Stephen Decatur printed on laid paper. Decatur was the naval hero of the War of 1812 and the Battle of Tripoli. His house is a National Historic Site on Lafayette Square, opposite the White House. Drawn by L. White, engraved by Milo Osborn.
